  • 1 1/4 cup Warm Water
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil

  • Butter, softened, for preparing your tray
  • Sesame Seeds (optional)

Instructions

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 200C/400F
  2. In a large bowl mix flour, salt, sugar and yeast. Use a whisk to incorporate well.
  3. Add the warm water, egg and olive oil. Mix well with a wooden spoon until it forms a dough and it separates from the sides.
  4. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for a couple of minutes to form a smooth dough. If it is too sticky, add bits of flour, without exceeding 1/4 cup. Only until the dough is manageable and you can knead it.
  5. Cut the dough into 12 pieces. Roll each piece into a ball by tucking the edges underneath. Pace the dough balls on a buttered tray.
  6. Cover the tray with a towel and let sit for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove towel. Brush egg wash on each bun and sprinkle sesame seeds (optional)
  8. Place tray in the oven on middle rack, bake for 15 minutes
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before removing the buns from the tray.
  10. Remove buns from the tray and place on a cooling rack.
